Advanced Web Search

General web search

This service allows you to simultaneously search on all the major web search engines and directories without having to go to their pages.

Its aim is not so much to find information, but to assist you with search engine optimization. Here are two examples of using advanced Web search...

1) Analyzing the competitiveness of the keyword (i.e., number of sites that each web search engine or directory finds for that keyword). This is useful for discovering the most effective keywords for your site. See Building: Site Content: Choosing Keywords for more information.

2) Finding out whether you are indexed or not. Of course, you should use very specific keyword (for example, the official name of your site) to come up in the first page of results. See also Finding indexed pages below.

In the above examples, you should use exact match search (i.e., you should wrap the search phrase in quotes).

Type in the keyword or phrase, check the desired web search engines and/or directories, and click the Search button. Your browser will show you search engines' results pages, each in a separate window.

Link popularity reporting

Type in your domain, check the desired search engines and click the Check button. Your browser will show you search engines' results pages, each in a separate window.

Finding indexed pages

This service allows you to find which pages of your site are indexed by search engines. Type in your domain, check the desired search engines and click the Check button. Your browser will show you search engines' results pages, each in a separate window.
